Liliana Andrade
Liliana (Lila) Soares Andrade was born in Lisbon-Portugal on the 24th of September 1989. Lila grew up in a musical family and on the age of 11 she discovered her own vocal talents, encouraged by her friends, coleagues and family she started to do little performances at school, blockparties and in church. As the years went by and Lila got better a familymember enrolled her and her mother for the talentsearch television program “Familia superstar”. After making it to the finals, Lila saw her dream of being a recording artist come closer as the proposals came poaring in from different records labels. Nashira Ramos
With a famous uncle (Johnny Ramos) and nephew ( Nelson Freitas) and of course her own passion for music Nashira always wanted to contribute to the family legacy with her own talents. The lessons combined with her love for writing poems and songs and being inspired by artist such as Alicia Keys and Beyonce got her to ask her uncle to help fulfill her dream and sign her on the brand new label ” Just Jay Records”. Johnny was very excited about her talents since he had already worked with Nashira on a few projects, one being a national talent show where Johnny ( Just Jay) produced a song written by Nashira, where she got to the semi-finals. Now with only 19 years she is the youngest artist signed at Just Jay Records working on the last bits and peaces of her debut album “Next Generation” which is to be released late 2010. Just Jay on Nashira (Nashira has so much talent and she is such a fast learner, with her I’m more then confident that I can push the envelope and set a new standard in the Zouk -scene,where the female vocals are concerned) |
Johnny Ramos
The multitalented Zouk/R&B singer Johnny Ramos has been responsible for many hits since he stepped into the music game. Being one of the originators of “ Mobass” and a member of “ Splash!” he has delivered time and time again. Not to mention the countless appearances on various compilation albums, Johnny somehow always succeeded in performing one of the hottest tracks of the album. After a 3 year absence in the PALOPS ( African Portuguese speaking countries) he finally released his first solo album ( Só Jota) in 2004 on the independent label Miss Jane records. After the release there hasn’t been a club, radio or stage in the PALOPS where Johnny’s music hasn’t been played, listened, or danced to. Being nominated with his hit single “ Largal” for best west African male at the 2005 KORA AWARDS, Johnny was going to claim his 2nd award in his career, after winning his 1st award in 2002 at the Cabo Music Awards for best compilation album 2002 in Holland. Unfortunately Johnny didn’t win the award but never the less, being nominated and being played at MTV Base Africa has certainly given a boost to his career. Although there is still a high demand for his songs and his agenda is fully booked for months in advance, and the fact that markets outside the PALOPS are starting to notice the music of Johnny Ramos, the singer, songwriter and producer, decided to head back to the studio and work on his second album, which was released in July 2008. This time it won’t be on the label Miss Jane Records but on Johnny’s own label ” Just Jay Records .Just to warm up the fans prior to the release of the album, in December 2007 Just Jay Records released an EP (Extended play) containing three fresh new tracks and one bonus track previously released on a compilation album ( Elite). Due to his success in Angola Just Jay records released a special Angolan edition in may 2009. At the moment Johnny has been giving his producer alter ego more priority because of the high demand of his producer skills. |
